PROFILE Saint-Yves SA Switzerland
Saint-Yves goes back to 1981 where Jean and Zarja
Biadi started to market part of the production of Alpha Jewels
of London, under their own Saint-Yves brand name. The jewellery,
aimed at the end market, has gradually been introduced in several
countries and from 1985 to many Duty Free outlets around the world.
In the nineties, Alpha Jewels has been bought by Swarovski who
changed the line and then used the factory to produce some of
their own jewelleries.
Fortunately, since the very beginning, part of
Saint-Yves collection was produced by the only and most advanced
jewellery factory in Bangkok which now produces the bulk of Saint-Yves
jewellery.
Quality of Saint-Yves fashion jewellery is one
of the finest in the industry and is known as such. The collection
is built around classic designs, aimed at the widest possible
clientele, making buying decision easy. The price point also give
us a good edge: between US$20.00 to US$ 109.00. The wide average
retail cost being US$ 52.00.
From the nineties, the duty free market became
the target of large luxury groups and a major reshuffle took place.
Saint-Yves gradually concentrated it’s effort on the Swiss
market. This move gave us very valuable product knowledge as we
are now in a position to closely monitor sales to the end clients
and are therefore able to identify the successful designs. This
know how has helped us to build a performing collection.
Our jewellery is classic and can therefore be
run for a long period of time. Before introducing new designs
we first test them, mainly at GLOBUS Geneva, a leading department
store serving an international and demanding clientele and only
the good sellers become part of the export collection.
For the Duty Free market, we operate a tighter
selection of 30 to 50 top sellers, from a collection of more than
200 designs.
Saint-Yves is selling approximately 50’000
pieces of jewellery per year and can easily increase production
as the only extra job is the careful preparation of orders and
packaging.
